Oh, You Tease!

As I've promised, and as I'll have you all recall, I've been very good about my Sunday night/Monday morning chapter posts. And, to prove my diligence, a new chapter is typed and ready to be posted tonight.

Now, if I'm any judge, this chapter won't really be a favorite of anyone's. It's called plot development, dear readers. There's a lot of stuff that's supposed to happen, and soon. For example, Sascha turns eighteen in April. What happens once she's a legal adult? Did you forget that we...well, you still know nothing of Alex's past? We know he had sisters, and you know he has no one left. You also know he disappeared from school for quite a while. Curious? Thought so. I'm anxious to get it written, I'll say that much.

Though I doubt anyone will read this blog post before midnight, I figured I might as well post SOME little teaser, right? Alright, well here's nothing:

Abby took my lies in stride, as she always seems to. Like she knows I’m lying but understands why I do.
“Does Alex know?”
“He doesn’t need to. He has enough to worry about.”
“Alright then. Can I get you anything?”
“No. Thanks though.”

Intrigued? Good. Check back on goodreads at midnight for the rest of the chapter.
**EDIT** The newest chapter can be found here: March 17 - March 24

Yippity Skippity

Hey everyone! Just a friendly post to remind anyone who, for some strange reason, reads this blog and doesn't check the website, that a new chapter, March 14-March 16, has been posted.

Cool things going on in life:
1. I'm now two for two, posting Mondays at midnight!
2. This blog has 300 views!
3. I am now happily employed!
4. I have a definite plan for the ending of Diary of an Agent's Sister!

Did you know:
1. The dates for Diary of an Agent's Sister are based on the 2009-2010 calendar?
*2. I have the hardest time defining midnight? (See reasoning below)
3. I'm an insomniac? (Pay attention to most of these post times...)
4. "Go hang a salami, I'm a lasagna hog" has the same letters, backwards and forwards? As does "I'm a lasagna hog, go hang a salami". It's easiest to see here: imalasagnahoggohangasalami
5. That right about now, anyone who reads this is thinking, "Ok...Jordan's kind of weird, and has too much time on her hands"?

Enough of my ramblings, now. Go read Diary if you haven't already! Go read something else if you have! Be sure to leave a comment, as comments are my life validations.

*Since I'm always up super late, my "Today" means everything that has happened between when I last woke up and when I will next fall asleep. Therefore, "Today" could begin around 10am on a Thursday, and end at 3am on Friday. It's just how my brain works.

*dies*

Straight from Cassie Clare's Blog! Read it!

It is possible that I may not sleep tonight. Alex Pettyfer has been offered the role of Jace in the City of Bones movie!!!! Granted, rumors say he hasn't accepted yet, but he HAS read the books, and he likes them. My only qualm is that I haven't seen him act yet. In appearance, he's perfect...but does anyone know if he's a good actor?

But just LOOK at this face!
Sigh.

I was a reader before I ever dreamed of being a writer, and these are some of my favorite books of all time. Now all I'm waiting for is the confirmation of his acceptance of the offer!

I'm At The Library Where They Call Me A Crook...

The title will make sense later. Just watch.

I felt like I just had to post this video. It is the brainchild of Julian Smith, my favorite movie maker of all time. He's mostly Youtube famous, though he's gotten his name out into the real world quite a bit lately. I still feel super cool knowing that I've been following him for quite a while now. Anyway, as the book-lover that I am, I couldn't help but particularly like this video that Julian Smith just released. It's funny, catchy, and relatable. Hope you all enjoy!

P.S. If you venture onto Julian Smith's website, check out the videos Malk, Hot Kool Aid, and all of the videos involving Jeffery, the interesting man in the blue shirt and askew glasses.

The Aye's Have It

You came, you voted, you conquered. The whole...four votes...were very clear. As of today, the new regular posting day for Diary of an Agent's Sister will be every Monday. As you've likely seen, (because if you're reading this blog, that likely means you also check my Goodreads page for updates) there was a new chapter posted last night. I'm pretty proud of myself, too, because I managed to post it right at midnight. That may not always be the case, but I hereby solemnly swear (that I am up to no good) to post a new chapter every Monday, at some given point throughout the day. If I cannot post a chapter, I will update the Diary page on this blog with something interesting, like an Academy secret, or a conversation with my characters, or something along those lines. The only exception will be if, say, I die. Or someone I know dies. Or I'm just really really sick. Or if I'm being held hostage on an off-the-grid location with no internet access and no way to escape. Like I said, I'll likely be good about this schedule.

Peace, love, and kick-butt assassin skills,
Jordan

Why I'm not Allowed To Finish Books After Midnight...

...but somehow always seem to manage it anyway.

So I just finished reading Cassandra Clare's Clockwork Angel, and I must say, I loved it. So much so that even though my level of attentiveness to Clare's blog and various websites may be a borderline psychiatric disease. Regardless, I just wanted to recommend it to anyone who cares what I think, and who happens to like British Supernatural Steampunk novels. Or just British ones, or just Supernatural ones, or just Steampunk. You get the idea. (I really need to learn to keep these things short, since my computer battery is dying...or just learn to get up and plug it in. [whistles the "Scented Plug-in commercial theme.]) Just kidding. I can't whistle. I hummed it though.

Now that I've thoroughly rambled on and confused you all [audience nods heads as they slowly start to comprehend why this post is titles as it is] I can show you what I have found! It's a trailer for Clockwork Angel! Just so it's clear, I've just recently become a fan of book trailers. I used to think they were really weird. Anyway, go to the website linked below to watch a really cool video about a really cool book.

I'm going to try to sleep now, but not before I let you know that I am working on a Diary chapter. Sorry to leave y'all hanging!

Much Love,
Jordan

Books>Movies

For those of you who didn't already know, I am a huge fan of Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instrument series. As that loyal fan, I've been keeping track of the Movie news, as City of Bones is slated to hit the big screen soonish. Lily Collins, who played the sister in 'Blindside', has already been cast as Clary, and I think she'll be a great fit. Jace is still up for casting though.
Anyway, Collins did an interview for her newest role, and I think it's pretty cool. You can check it out here. I'm very excited for this one!

-Jordan

P.S. I think Logan Lerman would make an excellent Simon!

**edit** 1/11/11
MTV posted a "Part II" of their interview with Lily Collins. Her dedication to her role as Clary is such a relief! Check it out here

New New Schedule

"I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by."
— Douglas Adams

Last week I posted a statement saying that I was going to post a new chapter of Diary of an Agent's Sister every Saturday night. The very next day, however, I was asked to teach my church's 10-11 year old Sunday School class. This means that my Saturday nights/Sunday mornings will be dedicated to preparing my lesson for the kiddos. Because I think their spiritual education is a bit more important than posting on Saturday nights, I am once again changing my post day. BUT, I want to appease my readers a bit too.

This weeks chapter will be posted sometime...this week. Next week's post date is up to you! There is a poll on the side of my page, so please take the time to pick which day you'd rather get a JoCad pick-me-up on. Are your Mondays so dreadful that you can't spare time to read, or would you rather have a bright and shiny new toy to play with to liven it up? Are Thursdays too cram packed with work to finish before the weekend? Need a bit of happiness to get you through hump-day wednesday? LET ME KNOW!!! Vote!!! If no one votes, I will secretly make the secret posting day at some really random and bizarre day and time just to throw you off. Because my normal habit of posting at 2am pst isn't weird enough...cough cough...
(It's true, what Margaret Chittenden said: "Many people hear voices when no one is there. Some of them are called mad and are shut up in rooms where they stare at the walls all day. Others are called writers and they do pretty much the same thing."

Also, on the Diary of an Agent's Sister page, I added some cool little tidbits about the backgrounds of some characters, just for my loyal fans! Enjoy!

Might as well...

Happy New Years everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic last day of 2010. It was certainly an interesting year for me, with graduating highschool, starting college, making Diary available to the online masses, seeing more doctors than I have in the past ten years of my life combined, making my longest ever solo car ride, learning to deal with roommates and crazy people, and a whole bunch of other stuff that can't be written down in one sitting.

New Years is always a time of resolutions. Personally, I usually forget what I resolved to do by January 2nd. If I'm lucky, I remember until the third. For the fun of it though, here are some of the resolutions that may or may not happen.
I resolve to finish Dairy of an Agent's Sister this year, and hopefully breathe life into the lives of new stories.
Sascha resolves to completely master Russian, and grow closer to overcoming her Ichthyophobia.
Alex says he has nothing he'd like to improve about himself. Sascha says Alex's resolution is to become more humble.
Evan wants to get his Black Belt, and Abby wants to give back to society more, maybe by spending some time helping in American orphanages.

What are some of your resolutions?

Love always,
Jordan, Sascha, Alex, Abby and Evan
